Confirm applicability before you work
A model name, registration lookup or community report does not prove that a procedure, part or specification applies to the exact vehicle in front of you. Confirm chassis, engine, transmission, production/build details and any other relevant option or part-number boundary before relying on a procedure.
Evidence gates are intentional
WrenchGuide may withhold a torque value, fluid specification, fitment claim, sequence, safety prerequisite, image or entire step when the available evidence is not strong enough for the exact application. A locked or “verification required” item is not missing polish: it means WrenchGuide does not have enough reviewed evidence to present that information as repair truth.
Never fill a WrenchGuide evidence gap with a guess. Use current manufacturer repair information, a verified component manufacturer source, a competent workshop or another source appropriate to the risk before proceeding.
Your safety and the vehicle remain your responsibility
Control stored energy
Electrical, fuel, cooling, hydraulic, spring, pressure and rotating systems can remain dangerous after the vehicle is switched off. Follow the correct isolation/depressurisation procedure for the exact system.
Stop when reality disagrees
If the vehicle, fastener, connector, routing, part or measurement does not match the guide, stop and re-verify applicability rather than forcing the next step.
Escalate high-risk work
Brakes, steering, restraints, high-voltage systems, lifting/support, fuel systems and other safety-critical work may require professional equipment, training or inspection.
Sources and community content
WrenchGuide keeps source provenance visible and prioritises manufacturer/OEM information, technical bulletins, parts catalogues and component-manufacturer documentation for repair facts. Forums and community reports can identify symptoms, demand and edge cases, but they do not become technical authority merely because many people repeat them.

WrenchGuide is not affiliated with or endorsed by BMW AG. BMW, model designations and other third-party marks are used only to identify the vehicles, components and source material being discussed; those marks belong to their respective owners.

Do not continue using the questionable instruction. Send the page/procedure and what you observed through the Beta feedback form so the content can be evidence-held or corrected. Do not include a VIN, registration plate, home address or other unnecessary private information.
